Road & Track Magazine -- December 1994

In December of 1994, I was working for GM Styling Division at the Concept Center California (was in Newbury Park)...

The Peter Egan column used to be the highlight of reading Road & Track...

They used to have a lot of new vehicle news and pictures from around the world (there was no online sources...).

Saab was headed in the wrong direction and was eventually bought by GM, which didn't turn out well...

The Avalon had three across seating in the front! (like the old American cars...)

Supra ad next to a 911 article...

This was an interesting article, going around the world visiting all the supercar manufacturers.
The NSX is around but built in Ohio.  The old Bugatti company is gone (later bought by VW) but I recently saw an article that said that the custom factory built in Italy to build this Bugatti is still there and is in disused state...

Ferrari is still owned by Fiat which merged with Chrysler, which is about to merge with Peugeot group...  Lamborghini is owned by VW.

BMW is still independent but Porsche is part of VW.

Mercedes is still independent (they used to at one time own Mitsubishi), Lotus is owned by a Malaysian company (I think) & Isidera is no longer...

Jaguar is owned by Tata & McLaren is in financial trouble...

Chrysler is part of Fiat...

These data pages were a highlight.  They don't do this type of testing or data tables any more...

A front V12 engined Ferrari with a traditional gated manual transmission...

Hector Luis Bergandi did some incredible illustrations for Road & Track...

This issue of Road & Track had about 225 pages!
