Old & Rough Tool Case - part 20 -- Applying Danish Oil on the Drawer Fronts

Started by applying to the small drawers...

Enough of the oil is applied, using a cloth, so that there's an even wet look after application

This is one of the small shallow drawers, before the oil is applied.

After oil application.
This oil has a cherry color in it so that it darkens the raw wood...

The oil evens out the color of the oak wood...

Applying the oil on the larger drawers...

All the drawers have been oiled.

After about 30 minutes, the excess oil is wiped with a cloth rag to even out the finish.

All the drawers put back in the case.

The end result is very good.  It looks old and used but not dirty.
There's a slight gloss that will lessen after the oil sets overnight.  The Cherry Color Danish Oil gives the old oak wood a nice warm color.

The overall appearance is pretty even.

Still need to work on the outside of the case, in terms of gluing down the torn & loose leatherette, cleaning & then finding a way to even out the exterior color.
Where there's exposed wood, I'll find a way to color it black.
Don't know if I'll apply paint or ?

I moved the case to the back counter of the garage so that the oil can set/dry overnight.

Also need to do something with all the metal corner protectors and the handle...
