Dining table bench - part 26 -- Legs - Cut the leg that was 3/16" higher than the other...

Marked and cut this leg down about 3/16".
The fit is much better...

One of the legs has a piece splintering.
Glued it and clamped it to set overnight.

The other leg was positioned and marked.
The fit is pretty good.

Haven't decided how to attach the legs to the bench yet.
It would be good to make it so that the legs can be detached from the seat in the future, so don't want to use biscuits and glue (which was my first plan...).

Pella Windows -- August 24, 1992

There was a piece of carboard under the flat files.
This label was on the carboard.
The Flynn family lived in our house before we bought it in 1993.
They had done a lot of work on the house just prior to our purchase.
They had done a small addition (second bathroom, enlarged master bedroom & walk-in closet were the main changes) and many repairs and upgrades to the entire house.

One of the significant upgrades/repairs was to replace most of the windows in the house with Pella windows.
This box must have contained one of the windows (or the sliding glass door) that was installed in 1992.

What's amazing is that it's almost 30 years ago now...

The Classic Twin-Cam Engine -- Part 14

Garage -- Moving in an Area Carpet -- Part 2

Placed the rug in the space where it will live in the garage.
The four pictures below are from about four different directions in the garage.

Put the support column back.
I added these columns to support the roof of the garage (all the junk I have hanging from the joists will sag the middle of the roof without the support columns).
The columns are positioned such that they're not in the way of being able to move around and work in the garage.

The two rugs overlap about 18 inches.
Decided to place the old (thinner) rug under the new one.

It's a very windy day today ("Santa Ana" winds - dry warm wind from the East...).
As it got later in the evening, it started raining a bit!
I had a lot of stuff in the backyard while rearranging stuff in the garage.
It all was getting wet!
Perfect timing...
It never rains in Southern California...

Moved all the bikes and other stuff back in the garage.

Took the opportunity to take picture of most of the bikes as they were being placed back in the garage near the book cases.

With everything put back in the garage for now, I ran out of time and energy...

Need to rearrange some of the stuff I moved when starting this rug project.

Tuesday, January 19, 2021 -- Manhattan Beach Pier -- Very Windy Day!

An Aston Martin Covertible

The bike path is pretty quiet today.
Huge contrast to yesterday...
