Long Beach Motorcycle Swap -- Sunday, March 27, 2022 -- Part 3 - Kodak Retina 35 mm Camera

According to Wikipedia...

Retina was the brand-name of a long-running series of German-built Kodak 35mm cameras, produced from 1934 until 1969. Kodak Retina cameras were manufactured in Stuttgart-Wangen by the Kodak AG Dr. Nagel Werk which Kodak had acquired in December 1931.

The Retina line included a variety of folding and non-folding models, including the Retina Reflex single lens reflex camera. Retina cameras were noted for their compact size, high quality, and low cost compared to competitors. These cameras retain a strong following today, of both photographers and collectors.

Sounds like some version of this camera was in production from 1934 to about 1966.

It's cool that the lens pops out with the cover.
Makes the camera very slim when closed and with the protective leather cover in place.

This one is a Retina II c.

Again, according to Wikipedia...
Type 020 Retina IIc – 1954 to 1957

The bottom of the camera.

 Without the cover...

The whole camera, lens & leather cover are made to the highest quality/standards.
Beautiful mechanical design.
I can't think of anything consumer product made today that is to this level of mechanical design standard/beauty...

f2.9/50 mm lens.
Pretty narrow field of view for a single lens.

Moved one of the wood tool chests from the flat file to the table saw & Cleaned the 911 steering wheel

The wood chest on the left was moved here from the flat file top.

The empty space on the right is where the wood chest used to sit...

Moved some stuff off the floor up to the flat file top...

Cleaned the Porsche 911 wheel.
