After cleaning.  Not a dramatic difference.

Looks like they're setting up for some filming.

More cars than usual in the parking lot.

Saturday, February 5, 2022 -- OCTO Meet -- Part 7

Sunday, January 30, 2022 -- Long Beach Car Swap Meet -- Part 11 -- 160 MPH Speedometer (British Jaeger)

The front of the gauge is actually in pretty good shape on this one.
There's a white dusting of contaminant on the inside of the gage.

Says "BAD" on the side of the gage.
Doesn't matter since it won't be used.

Wonder where it was left to cause this much corrosion on the housing...

The glass and trim is easy to remove.
Just turn to line up the tabs/notches.

There's white debris everywhere.

The inside of the glass is covered in the white debris.

The trim ring also...

Using a soft brush to remove the debris.

The brush works well without damaging the black paint and the white numbers/markings.

After brushing.  Looks pretty good.
The white debris is coming from the paint on the inside of the gage housing.
Whatever paint they used, it's drying out and flaking off in tiny pieces...

After brushing the glass.
Also pretty good.
Will use the glass cleaner to get it perfectly clean.

Nearly ready to be put back together.

British Jaeger

Put the front back together.

Good enough for display purposes...
