Sunday, November 11, 2021 -- Woodley Park French and Italian car show & swap -- part 1

Interesting cars in the parking lot...

Late 70s/early 80s Nishiki bike with mixed components & lots of drillium...

It's a bit too big for me but can ride it.
More for someone closer to 6' tall.

The bike is old enough to qualify for La Eroica events (downtube shifters, non-aero brake levers...

Chrome around the rear triangle.

Campagnolo Nuovo Record rear derailleur...

Drillium all over the front crank gears...

Rear drops are Suntour GS.
6-speed rear cassette...

Made in Japan...

Double-Butted Chrome-Moly tubes.
Wonder if the tubes are made by Tange...

Campagnolo front derailleur.
Don't know enough to know if this is also Nuovo Record...

Tange headset bearings...

Dia-Compe brakes.

Mavic G 40 rims.
Assembled by Temple City Bike Shop.
Temple City is a town just east of downtown LA.
Based on their fb page, it seems they've been around for a long time...

Campagnolo Record Hubs (both front and rear wheels).

Not heard of "Technomic" before...
Don't know if it's a brand name or just a model name.

Sakae Custom "SR" Road Champion handle bars

Drillium on the Dia-Compe brake levers also...

Riveted on headtube badge.
Nice design...

I think most bikes have the brake cable come down the drive-side of the bike but this one doesn't...

The lugs are nice designs with cutouts.

The bottle cage mounting holes are reinforced...

Sugino gears.
The big ring is 54 teeth!
The current trend is for "compact" gears, some into the low 40s...

Sugino crank & bolt cover...

quite a name "super mighty"...

SR Laprade seat post.
SR stands for Sakae Ringyo...

Campagnolo Quick Release Levers (Campagnolo created/invented QRs).

Surprising number of cars in the parking lot on a cloudy Thursday...

Chains & missing links...

SKMK is looking for new 8-speed & 9-speed chains and missing-links.

These are 8-speed & 10-speed...

Some more 8-speed...

Only have one 10-speed chain in my stock.
