BMW-Heyco lug-nut wrench -- Before & After Cleaning

After cleaning

Manhattan Beach Pier -- Saturday, June 15, 2019 (cloudy but nice weather for riding)

After all the recent repair work on the Cannondale, took it for it's first ride after.  Everything worked OK.

Borletti Metric Dial Indicator -- Before & After Cleaning

After cleaning

Repairing the Front Brake and Derailleur -- Part 11 (cleaning the rear derailleur, rear brake & chainring)

LH side rear wheel hanger.  There's corrosion in the hanger and the seat tube near the hangar.  The paint is bubbling...

Inside view of the LH hanger.  Not too bad. .  The hangers themselves are in OK condition.  This one has a serial number on it.

Inside view of the RH hanger.  Not too bad.

Outside view of the RH hanger.  Also in good shape.

After cleaning the rear derailleur.  There's some crash related scratches on the derailleur but functionally it's in OK condition.

Rear view of the rear derailleur.  It cleaned up nice.  The only part I could not get to for cleaning is the big spring inside.

Inside view of the rear derailleur.  The free wheels were extremely dirty with a thick caked on layer of grease and dirt.  It took quite a bit of work to get them clean.

There's a very small spot of corrosion near the back of the bottom bracket where the front derailleur cable comes out of it's guide.

On the LH chain stay, there's some scratched areas in the paint but there's no visible corrosion.

Same as previous picture but a view from below the bicycle.

After cleaning the rear brake.  Rear view.  No obvious corrosion.
Looking up at the bottom side of the rear brake assembly.  The bike frame where the rear brake mounts is corroded and the paint has come off of the round portion of the brake mount tube area.

RH side of the rear brake looks OK.

There's a tiny bit of corrosion on the rear brake lever (for removing the wheel) but the release lever works OK.

LH side of the rear brake.  There's some corrosion on the parts on and near the cable holder.  It's not too bad and doesn't affect the function.  Will apply some corrosion neutralizer on it with a brush.

This is the back side of the rear brake.  There's a lot of dirt accumulation and some corrosion around the pivot bolt.  This is a picture after cleaning off most of the dirt and rust.  This area is very difficult to access without removing the brake assembly.

Bottom of the RH chain stay.  There's some paint damaged spots.  Not too bad yet.

The LH side of the bottom bracket has corrosion under the paint but isn't peeling yet.

Paint bubbling on the top tube near the seat post.

Rear brake cable housing holder on the top tube near the seat post.  A little bit of corrosion.  Most of this cleaned off OK.

Cleaning the back side of the chain ring.  There's grease/dirt compacted into some spots.  Had to use a small screw driver to scrape out the gunk.  This is before cleaning.

After getting most of the gunk out of this narrow space.
