Long Beach Motorcycle Swap Meet - January 24, 2016 (Sunday)

Drove this tiny car to the swap meet.  First thing I bought (right away) was a bicycle...  The front wheel is bolted in place (no quick release) so I put the whole thing in the car without removing anything & it fit!  Amazing...

The brand is "ATALA" and is made in Milano, Italy.  I don't know much about Atala, other than what I've read...  They're pretty middle of the road bikes in general, according to the web.  This one has some nicer features like, Campagnolo hubs, Campagnolo front & rear deraileurs (lower end Campy), chrome on parts of the frame.

Overall, what's cool is that it's a nice Italian period bike (late 60's is my guess) with pretty much all it's original hardware (except for tires & seat...).  It's a little rough but would be nice to take apart and restore...  I doubt that I'll ever have that kind of leisure time but you never know what the future holds...
For now, it will hang in the garage & be in the way...

Bike Ride to top of PV Drive East -- January 24, 2016 (Sunday)

The start of the ride up Palos Verdes Drive East...  About 1,000 feet in elevation and 1.5 miles to the top...

Near the bottom of PV Drive East...

Stopped at Marina Del Rey Bridge on the way back, just as the sun is setting...

Schuco 1/64 scale cars from the 70's (Glendale toy show)

1970 Porsche 914 (white), Early 70's Porsche 917 (Blue) & Early 70's Mercedes-Benz C111 Experimental Car with gull-wing doors (Orange)

All three are very well made and modeled & all have some sort of opening feature...

From Long Beach Antique Swap Meet (part 2)

Overview picture of some of the junk from Long Beach (mixed in with some stuff from the Glendale Toy Show & other previously purchased junk...)

Small wide angle lens and Macro lens for a small camera...  Don't know which...  The brand is "Sun" and the case/lens is made in Japan...  Feels like it's from the 60's...

Almost all in French...

I recall seeing Vandervell sponsorship advertising from racing in the 50's/60's photographs...

This box is full of valves wrapped in wax paper...

Dome lamp from a 50's American Car (Hudson?), I think...  The lens is glass.  I think I might already have one of these in some drawer...

Interesting hardware (nuts/bolts) storage boxes.  I assume they were part of a larger dispensing rack from a hardware store...

Interesting how some of the text is in Japanese (they were sold like this in the USA several decades ago...).

In French and English...  This is "S.E.V. Marchal"...  I know Marchal from the lamps they built (head, fog, driving...).

Germany, as written in English (not "Deutschland"), but the "Imported from Germany" is in French...

Mainly bought this to get the "guy" that's missing in my other James Bond car (which is in better condition than this one...)

Very early matchbox toy with cast metal wheels...

Don't know if this was part of a larger toy or was separate... It's made of a soft plastic/rubber type of material but looks like it's pretty old...  For something so small and simple, it's very well modeled/made...

Don't even know where Searchlight, Nevada is...  Had to look it up...  near the bottom tip of Nevada...

Some sort of paper sales/transaction ledger file...  Entries are from 1956-1957...  Amazingly well made and designed...
