Old & Rough Tool Case - part 25 -- Removing the corner protectors from the top rear of the case

This is the Right Rear top corner protector.

The screws come loose with very little torque.

The original "nickel" finish is somewhat visible on the inside of the part...
The dirt around the corner protector is pretty thick and set into the leatherette pretty strongly over all the years...

The LR top corner protector.
Pretty strong surface corrosion on all the protectors...

Again, the screws came loose easily.

Strong level of dirt again...

For now, I put the rear corner protector with the front ones in the top left drawer.
I'll clean them with a wire wheel later...

Car & Driver Magazine -- December 1994 issue

26 years ago...  I was working for GM, in California at the Concept Center California (Advanced Design Studio).

It's been a long time since car audio equipment ads...

I knew the young lady in the blue outfit.  We both worked at the Ford Design Center at the same time in the late 1980s.  I remember doing one social thing with her.  There were only three Korean-Americans working in the Design Center.  It was me and two designers/stylist.  I wonder where they are now, something like 32 years later...

This generation of the 4-runner is perhaps my favorite...

The Chrysler Cirrus beat out the Honda Accord & Ford Contour in this three car comparison(!).  Where are they now...

I always liked the styling on this generation of Cadillacs, especially the Eldorado...

One of the least attractive Porsche steering wheels ever...  (I think I have one of these)

The M3 beat the others...

The other cars were good cars too (300ZX, Lexus SC & Toyota Supra).

This was just the right size vehicle for the US market.

A different Tour de France...

I borrowed one of these from work for a camping trip to Glacier National Park.  It was a big boat of a two door coupe with huge/heavy doors but quiet and comfortable.  It had a huge trunk and easily held all our luggage and camping equipment.

Attractive car.  Known for lack of reliability and complexity...

Friday, October 23, 2020 -- Manhattan Beach Pier

Another overcast day.
About 70 F.  Good riding weather...

Can barely make out Catalina Island...
