Wednesday, November 24, 2021 -- Manhattan Beach Pier -- Nice Day...

While I was sitting on this bench and resting, a guy came up and asked me to call a lifeguard over from the station next to the bench.
He said he was stung by a sting ray and was in pain and wanted help.
I went upstairs and knocked but no one was inside.
I saw a lifeguard truck pass by the pier on the sand so I flagged him down.
The guy with the sting talked to the lifeguard but he said there's nothing he can do.
The lifeguard said the only thing that will help with the pain is warm water...

Tuesday, November 23, 2021 -- Culver Steps (new office/shopping building in downtown)

The Culver Hotel.
Some of the actors in the Wizard of Oz supposedly stayed at this hotel during the making of the movie...

The theater on the left closed, due to COVID.
I hope it opens again someday...

Tuesday, November 23, 2021 -- Maple tree has dropped most of it's leaves...

Friday, November 19, 2021 -- JL Garage visit -- part 1

JL invited CS to visit his garage.
RB made it happen.

J was incredibly generous with his precious time & gave CS a personal tour of not only the "garage" but also the "shop" next door.

If I recall correctly, this is a Fiat.

The "collection" of cars is amazingly eclectic and broad in the best possible way.  Another Fiat...

Jay explained that the series II red XKE is special;  has a shortened wheelbase from the factory...

I thought J would do a meet & greet, spending a few minutes.
Then, let us spend a little time on our own admiring the collection before leaving.
So, I thought CS, RB and I would admire, enjoy and talk about the collection then leave.

Instead, JL spent nearly an hour and a half giving CS a personal guided tour of the garage and shop, explaining the history, significance and interesting facts about many of the cars.

We talked about the interesting Cosmos and the painting of the brochure behind the car...

Tuesday, November 23, 2021 -- Culver City Farmer's Market - Interesting mushrooms...

Tuesday, November 23, 2021 -- Manhattan Beach Pier -- Sunny & Warm (around 70)

T-Mobile Home Internet Router - battery light on...

The battery light is red.

There's a special li-ion battery.

I called T-Mobile to ask about this.
They said that they know of this issue with the 4G routers.
I thought I signed up for the 5G home Wi-Fi...
Turns out that they sent me the 4G router.  Hmmm...
They're sending me the 5G router via next day delivery.
The 5G router is cylindrical (& that's what I've seen advertised) & the rectangular box is 4G...
I feel like I've been scammed but as long as they send me the 5G router, it's OK.
Even the 4G router Wi-Fi is way faster than the DSL it replaced!

Fresh Sourdough Bread -- Round 2

The fresh bread from yesterday.
Still soft and good.
At this rate, it will be gone by tomorrow, before it even has a chance to get hard...

Fresh Ramen - Last Time

The ramen business is closing.
This was the last order.
They drive up to Irvine to drop off.
CM drove down to get several orders for other friends and family.

Monday, November 22, 2021 -- Manhattan Beach Pier -- Overcast but Warm (mid 70s)

180 panorama

Catalina is as clear as I can recall ever seeing from the pier...

The Goodyear blimp...

More and more electric bikes...

The ocean is as still as I've ever seen...

Lost Another Bar End Cap...

Lost another cap on today's ride.  It wasn't tight enough...

The one on the right is the largest diameter.
Will use that one this time...

Hopefully it will stay in place now.
The fit was tight enough to have to use a wooden hammer to install the cap...

Plastic Calipers need a battery

76A LR44 1.5V Alkaline or Silver-Oxide Battery.
Will order some online...

Fresh loaf of home baked sourdough bread...

CM's elementary school had a silent auction fundraiser.
She bid on and got a lot of different items, including this loaf of bread.
It was delivered on the porch and it was still warm.

Ate nearly 1/2 of it.
It's best when fresh and warm.
With just some butter...
