1978 Porsche 911 SC & Turbo Brochure

There's a separate insert for the Technical Data.

The 911 has a steering rack with the input shaft on the centerline of the vehicle.  It's how a single seater racecar may have it arranged.  It's convenient for making a RHD version.
My 914 uses the front suspension and steering rack from the 911 & thus has the same steering intermediate shaft layout.

In my opinion, this is the ugliest steering wheel that Porsche ever used on any of their cars...
Looks like an airbag wheel but it's not...

The targa top is made of a flexible material (layered).
When storing, the frame collapses and the targa top does a double fold to become about 40% of the open size.

Then the folded targa top can be stored in the front trunk.
When I worked at the GM Concept Center California, I worked on a project vehicle (Pontiac Salsa which didn't go into production but Hot Wheels made a model of it) that had a targa top.
I bought a used Porsche Targa top to use as a model for the top on the Pontiac Salsa.  Since it was a "concept" vehicle, even though we built a running "mock up" of the car, the targa top was mocked up with a solid removal panel without the folding feature.

M/T Book -- Part 3

Finished trimming the strawberry tree

This was a few months ago, before the trimming on the strawberry tree (the small one on the left).
Notice how much higher the tree is than the roof...

After the trimming.
The sun was setting...
Later, I may trim the sides of the tree to make the shape a little more narrow...

Tuesday, January 26, 2021 -- Bike Path -- Windy and Cool (low 50's F)

The bike path at the beach was covered in sand in many places.
The picture below is a stretch where it's not bad (about 1/2 the path is clear).
Many places, the sand was covering the entire path.
Was able to ride through the sand (not good for the bike) but when I got closer to Manhattan Beach Pier, it got too heavy and had to turn around.

Some pictures from Marina Del Rey Jetty area.
It was a cool day (low 50s F) and a bit windy but at least the sun was out.
Due to the recent rain, the air was pretty clear.
