Cleaning Up the Series I Jaguar XJS Instrument Cluster -- Cleaning the speedometer & reassembly -- Part 4

This plastic piece acts as the mounting bracket interface between the gauge itself and the wood instrument cluster.  During disassembly, it broke.  I glued it back together with superglue & it worked out OK.
The plastic bracket for the tachometer (on the left side of this picture) also broke in one place so it was also glued back together with super glue.  There's a wavy spring that keeps the plastic bracket in the correct place relative to the gauge itself.  This spring has quite a bit of tension on it when it's installed.  During removal of the spring, I allowed too much spring pressure to be placed on the plastic bracket & that's why it broke.  I needed to use a different technique of removing the spring (towards the face of the gauge) which would have lessened the pressure on the plastic bracket from the spring.  Now I know how to take it apart & put it back together properly...
