Dining table bench - part 16 -- Straight legs...

I like the curved legs concept but S doesn't want the curved wood for the legs.
I have some other "scrap" wood that I can try to use to make some straight legs for the bench.

Decided to use  the largest piece.
Will cut it down to make four legs.

The piece is about 3.5" x 10".
Will cut out four 2" thick pieces for the legs.

The 3.5" thickness is too much for the table saw blade (it's capacity is about 3 inches).
So, had to make the cut from both sides of the piece.

The uncut sides of the pieces are a bit rough.
Will make a skim cut on both sides to clean it up...

After the skim cut.
The four leg blanks are ready.
The pieces should be pretty close to being square...

Makes a big mess.
I have a vacuum hose connected to the dust chute area at the bottom of the table saw but it can only catch so much...

Sawdust everywhere...
Will have to vacuum later (when all the cutting is basically done).
Still need to make some cross cuts...
