Bandsaw Surface Corrosion -- Clean, Steel Wool & Wax...

First cleaned the surface rust on about 2/3 of the top.
Then, used steel wool to remove most of the corrosion.

Used a wax to protect and to make the surface slippery so that the wood will glide across the surface.

After the wax, it's buffed to make smooth and slippery.
Did the 2/3 that I'll be using to cut the legs to match the shape of the bottom of the bench.

Will do the other 1/3 later...

A couple of days later, did the rest of the top.
First used some cleaner to wipe down the rest of the top.

Started using steel wool to remove the rust.

After a lot of elbow grease with the steel wool...

Applied wax on the top and let it dry for a few minutes.

Rubbed down the wax.
It's very slippery after it's done.

The wax should keep it from rusting for awhile...
