Installing the bottom bracket on the Schwinn Paramount

The main cartridge of the bottom bracket goes in from the drive side.  The threads are reversed on the drive side (turn it counter-clockwise to install/tighten).  I applied a little bit of grease on the threads (to minimize the chance for cross-threading and possibly reduce corrosion).

On the LH (non-drive side, there a locking ring that threads in.  It appears to have some thread-locking compound pre-applied to it.

On the drive side, I can hand thread the assembly all the way in.  Now I need the special tool to put a little bit of torque on it.

On the non-drive side, I can only hand thread it in this far.  The thread locking compound makes it harder to turn.  Need the special tool...

The bolts for attaching the crank arms to the tapered-square spindle are the right size and can be reused from the Miele bike.
