Cleaning Up the Series I Jaguar XJS Instrument Cluster -- reassembly -- Part 8 & last






Turned out pretty presentable after cleaning the gauges and refinishing the wood.

This bracket appears to be to hold the speedometer drive cable in place.  It hangs down below the bottom edge of the wood gauge cluster. 
I turned the bracket around so that it doesn't stick down below the bottom edge of the wood.  It will be better for setting the gauge cluster on a flat surface for display.



I happened to have this tachometer around.  It's actually slightly too small for the hole for the HVAC vent that is supposed to go in that hole.  The chrome trim ring glaringly clashes with the rest of the cluster assembly.  I'll take it out and replace with the vent when I find one at a swap meet...
