Acquired Junk from Porsche Swap Meets - Part 6 (1973 Porsche 911T Fuel Door)

Before sand blasting...


After sand blasting...  What's interesting is that the door is a single sheet of heavy gauge metal.  It's very thick and very stiff!  I don't think it can be bent by hand... especially with the curvature in the panel giving it more rigidity... (typical construction today is a thin outer panel with a structural inner panel (two piece construction, if it's made of metal.  Some vehicles have molded plastic fuel doors...)




Fuel Door is located on the Left Front Fender (as shown in a picture from the Porsche museum of a 1973 911T)
