The cheap dry eraser pads have a felt top surface that's glued to the foam backing (with a magnet in the middle so that they stick to the board). The glue loses it's adhesion over time and the felt starts coming off. Sued this contact cement to glue all the felt pads back on. With this cement, you apply a coat of the adhesive on both surfaces being joined together (it's better if the surfaces are rough to better adhere to the adhesive). Then, you let the cement dry to the touch. Once it gets dry, you stick to two pieces together. The adhesion of the two surfaces with the cement on it is very strong so you get one shot at it. Proper alignment is critical since you can't adjust it once it's stuck together. |
