There are many cracks in the rear wheel near the nipples. There's probably about 6 locations with cracks. Doesn't look safe...

Schwinn Paramount -- Part 1 -- Frame, fork, gooseneck/handlebar (needs a cleaning first...)
Bought this at last Saturday's Bicycle Swap Meet. Needs almost everything and is a little rough... |
Looks like the Gooseneck was made just for this bike. It has the same "P" logo on it as the frame. |
Same with the handle bar made by 3T. It also has the "P" logo on it. |
The frame number is on the bottom of the head tube, on the lug. |
Replacing the tires on the Cannondale -- Part 1 (corrosion and debris on the front & rear wheel skewer area; corrosion at the drop out area of the fork)
Front wheel. The skewer is corroded and the spring is corroded/broken on the RH side. |
Front wheel. The corrosion on the LH side of the skewer is even worse. |
Corrosion on the fork. The fork is carbon but the dropout area is steel. |
debris and corrosion |
Looks like the top gel coat for the carbon was extended over the steel portion but the corrosion has peeled it away. |
LH side of the fork outer. Will have to clean this as much as I can... |
Rear wheel. RH side of the skewer has quite a bit of corrosion also. |
Rear wheel. The LH side of the skewer seems to have the least amount of corrosion. |
