No idea what kind of wood it is.
Also, a strange shape for a tree trunk... Maybe it was a very large limb of a very large tree?
It was cut on a diagonal to get it to be longer in one direction, so it could have been a kinda round trunk/limb, but still has the "bumped out" shape on one side...
Don't know if this damage was there when it was made into a table or if it happened during use...
This is the bottom side of the slab (about 2" thick).
Appears to be a fast growing tree. The rings don't appear to be very tight together...
Some pretty good damage on this end of the slab also. Appears to be chew marks... Dog?
