Monday, March 24, 2025 - Torino - Museo Nationale dell'Automobile - Part 2

Sunday, March 23, 2025 - Arriving in Milano and moving to Torino

Arriving in Milano at the airport.
Waiting in line to go through immigration/customs.
Although the line was a bit long, it moved relatively quickly.
Was through the exit process in about 25 minutes.

We were moving directly to Torino.
There were two options:  Train or Bus.
We checked the train (terminal in the airport).  We had missed the most recent train to Torino and it was going to be another two hours before the next train.
As for the bus, there's a direct service to Torino.
We also had just missed the bus but the next one was leaving in an hour.
Downloaded a couple of transportation ticket purchasing apps onto the phone.  (Omio & Trainline)
Used Omio to purchase the bus tickets online.

Sat in the front row seat & had a direct view out of the front windshield.

Light rain at the Milano airport.

Took about 2 hours to get to Torino.

Passed by a giant Pirelli facility.

Torino.

We got off at one of the bus/train stations near the center of Torino that's closest to the hotel we reserved.
There were 4 or 5 choices of locations to get off in Torino.

The one and only time we used Uber in Italy was to get from the bus station to the hotel.
Uber doesn't seem to be very popular in Italy.
There's a choice to basically call for a cab using the app, which is what we did.
The ride was pretty reasonably priced (about $16).
I think it's more than if we just caught a cab at the bus station (maybe that's about $10? or less).

The map in the image points out the "Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile".  This was one of the reasons I wanted to go to Torino.

Bus station where we got dropped off.

The cab dropped us off at the hotel.
This is the only hotel we stayed at on our trip.
All other accommodations were air-bnb type of places.

Check in desk.
The people at the hotel were nice and most of them spoke English.
