Removing the Bottom Bracket from the Miele Bike -- Learning about different Bottom Brackets...

This is the non-drive side (LH side of the bike).

This is the drive side (RH side of the bike), where the chain and gears are.

I have the right wrench (Shimano brand) to remove this part.  It's usually reverse threaded (clockwise to loosen.  I tried to remove it but it's pretty stuck...

I didn't take a picture, but there's a special wrench to remove the locking ring.  It took quite a bit of force to loosen this ring but it came off.

This wrench with two pins is required to remove the bearing race.

Once the bearing race is removed, the shaft and bearings can be removed from the LH side.  Only thing left on the frame is the RH race.

This Bottom Bracket is marked 36 X 24T.  I don't think this is the right size for this frame & it's not the right size for the Schwinn Paramount frame.  I measured the frame and it's bottom bracket area is for a 35 mm size (not 36 mm).  The bearing race in this picture will not thread into the frame.  It's too big.  Also, this race was pretty difficult to remove (very tight).  The first three threads on the race is also damaged.  It seems like this was forced on the Miele bike, even though it's not the right part!  I'm going to have to order the right size Bottom Bracket for the Paramount.  I was hoping to reuse the BB but not to be...

I have this Campagnolo BB that's marked 35 X 1.  This would fit the Paramount, except that I think this type is called an "Italian" style.  This BB has "normal" threads on both sides.  The Paramount has reverse threads on the Drive side so it won't work...
