This small wood rim wheel is very unusual. I looked up the brand at one time & found it but now forgot... It's English and extremely light (feels like it weighs less than a pound!). Unusual things about this wheel: The rim is wood only (no inner aluminum support). I don't know how they made the rim (can't see any seams in the wood but there has to be...). The spokes of the wheel are made in three pieces and held together by the center ring for manufacturing purposes. The back of the rim has a series of what look like half round-head rivets protruding all around it for grip (very thin rim so need the extra grip...). I think it's Aftermarket from late 50's/early 60's... |
