Gerstener Small Chest -- Finished the Leather Handle & Treated the Wood (done for now)

After cleaning the leather with a leather cleaner/lotion, applied dark brown leather cream.  Turned out pretty nice & the leather will be protected.

Applied light walnut color Watco Danish Wood Oil on the exterior of the box.  Then, using a clean paper towel, wiped off the excess.  It's now done and I placed it on my desk at work (handy for storing small tools and such at the desk...).

Kowa Tool Cart -- Cut down the LH side handle to narrow the footprint and moved the fold-out tray

This was the starting point.  The idea is to reduce the footprint by getting rid of the stuff on the LH side.

This is all the stuff that I got rid of.

Ended up moving the RH side fold-out tray to the LH side.

The tray is held in place with three screws that hold the assembly together and one that's just to hold the tray to the tubing. (4 total)

This is after removing the RH tray.  I put the screws back in place (the top two screws hold the upper tray in place)

Cut the tubing off on the LH side (used a hacksaw with a yellow painted blade;  thus all the yellow debris...).

In the process of cutting off the tubing that sticks out.

After cutting off the Tubing.  (also lost the handle for the cart in the process.  That's the main reason for moving the table from side to side.  It exposes the tubing on the RH side, which can be used as a handle to push the cart around.)

In order to mount the fold-out tray on the LH side, one of the "legs" had to be cut shorter and new holes had to be drilled on the other leg.

Found these black rubber grommets to go into the raw tubing end to finish them off (filed the raw edge of the tubing to get rid of the burrs first...).  Once the tray is installed, these tubing ends will be covered to a large extent.

The tray has been mounted to the LH side.  This is the rear leg.  The two screws used to mount the tray needed new holds drilled into the leg.  The unused hole just above the bottom tray support is the hole that was used when the tray was installed on the RH side.
Tray is fully installed.  The cutoff tubing ends are not exposed.

The top of the picture shows the tray basically covering the cut off tubing.

Finished.  The footprint is greatly reduced (compare to the first picture) and the RH side tubing, which is now exposed, can be used as a handle for pushing the cart around.
