Replacing the hot water sink valve in the master bath
![]() |
The hot water faucet valve leaks through the shaft of the valve when turned about 45 degrees.

Will remove the old valve assembly (Price Pfister brand) and replace it.

Removed the old assembly. The valve seat area looks ok.

Local hardware store had a replacement valve.

There's a plastic washer that goes under the valve. Will put some Teflon tape on the threads to seal also.

Applied the tape and put the plastic seal on.

The cold water supply like has corrosion on the metal sheathing. Will have to replace the line soon... (project for another day)

Finished replacing the valve.

There's quite a bit of hard water deposits around the base of the fixture.
