Oil Change on the MGB

Getting ready for the oil change...

The oil filter is accessed from the top and very easy to remove.

Some oil spills when removing the filter (had a pan under the car).

The engine bay is coated with a fine layer of oil/dirt.
The oil fill cap (shiny chrome) is pretty slippery and difficult to turn with your hands.

Used some large adjustable pliers to remove the fill cap.
It wasn't that tight...

Cleaned the filter seal interface surface before installing the new filter.

The replacement filter that I bought is smaller than the one I removed but the fit is correct.

The engine took about 4.5 quarts of new oil.

I'll order this filter for the next time.
I think the Penzoil filter that I installed is fine but this one is significantly larger...

Saturday, December 19, 2020 -- Beautiful day for a bike ride -- Manhattan Beach Pier & Marina Del Rey

A lot of people on the bike path and the pier area.

Parking lots are full.

Bike shoes failed again ("bodge" failed) -- trying a different adhesive/bonding material...

My "bodge" super glue repair of one of my biking shoes failed today.
It didn't completely separate but it's getting close.

I already had this product.
Decided to try it.
You have about 4 minutes after you mix it.
Actually, closer to 2 to 3 minutes before it starts to harden...

The packaging says it sets up in 4 hours.
I'll give it more like 12 hours...

Will know tomorrow, when I go for a ride, if it worked or not.
