This product reminds me of a concept vehicle I worked at GM in the early 1990s.
It was called the narrow lane vehicle, with four wheels.
This solution solves all the FMVSS safety problems by going with 3 wheels, which categorizes it as a motorcycle and doesn't have to meet any of the crash safety requirement for 4 wheeled vehicles.
It you compare it to a motorcycle, it looks safer.
It's nice to be protected from the weather also.
But, comparing to cars, it's chances in a collision would seem dim...
