Friday, March 28, 2025 - Manarola to Volastra

| Took the train from Riomaggiore to Manarola in the morning. The hiking trail from Manarola to Corniglia is closed due to trail repair. The alternative trail is to walk up to Volastra then down to Corniglia. It's a much longer hike with much more elevation. |

| We found that there's a bus from Manarola to Volastra that leaves at 10 AM. We decided to take the bus up to Volastra and take the trail from Volastra to Corniglia, which is mostly flat or downhill. |

| We weren't sure where the bus stop is or which is the bus. Turned out that this is the bus & bus stop. There was no one at the bus about 20 minutes before departure time. |

| Had time to step into this small pasta shop & get an expresso. There's some ladies behind the door making pasta. |

| Turned out that this is the right bus. The driver showed up just before 10 and several other people who wanted to ride the bus also showed up. It left right on time & took us up to Volastra. It would have been a very tough and long hike. |

| Went inside a church in Volastra. Volastra is a very quiet town. Very few tourists around, which was very pleasant. |

| Took a walk around the town. |
