New (Shimano BB-UN55 -- sealed bearing) Bottom Bracket for the Schwinn Paramount

This came in the mail...

It goes here...

Made in Indonesia.

I ordered 68 mm X 118 MM

The spindle length (of the bottom bracket from the Miele bike) is about 119 mm.

The Bottom Bracket Portion of the Paramount frame is 68 mm.

This is what's in the box.

This is a sealed bearing design, whereas the Paramount originally probably came with a traditional type, with the caged bearings (like the ones that are in the Miele bike).   It needs a special tool to install.  I don't think I have the tool...
The "user's manual" doesn't tell you how to install it.  It says to take it to a bicycle mechanic...  Or look at the "dealer's manual" on line at http://si.shimano.com

The tool I need looks like this.  I don't know if I have it (will have to check in my bicycle tool box...)  It looks like I can buy a serviceable tool on Amazon for $7.

There is no torque information on the website.  The locking ring appears to have some thread locker type of material on it.  It bottoms out on the frame's bottom bracket so it looks like it just needs to be "tight" to the frame (no real loads on the threads).

Companion -- 5/8" & 9/16" Open End Wrench (before and after cleaning)

After cleaning

Spare shifter cables (package of 10)

Alfa Romeo Steering Wheel -- Circa the 1960s (Not too bad a shape, except for some cracking of the plastic near the spokes...

The wheel came with this broken badge...  It's basically trash...
I couldn't bring myself to throw it away.  Cleaned the metal frame... (maybe the frame will be useful one day...)

After cleaning
SL-7402 (rear derailleur shifter).  There's two special washers on this side of the shifter...

The dirt came out of the cast "DURA-ACE" lettering area

It appears to be for an 8-speed rear gear set...

Cleaned up pretty nicely...
There's only one of the pieces (for the LH side front derailleur shifter) that go between the shifter and the studs on the down-tube...
