Forgot that it's President's day.
I don't get the day off.
Went for my usual lunch time ride and the bike path was pretty crowded (quickly figured out why).
The beach and pier area was pretty busy too, like a weekend day.
The weather was decent, low to mid 60s...
I hadn't ridden the previous three days for two reasons; it was very windy and most weekends it's too crowded on the bike path.
So, after a three day rest, usually my legs recover and feel pretty good & today was the usual.
The effort was pretty close to the usual but went pretty fast today.
Again, averaged over 20 MPH for about 20 miles of riding.
I take a break at the pier so it's not continuous riding.
Also, if I slow down for a crowded area, I'll pause the bike computer software for a short time (usually about 15 to 30 seconds) till I get past the crowded part. I do the pausing to keep myself from taking too many risks. If I don't pause it, I'll have to slow down but I know that the computer is still going and the tendency is to not be as careful as when it's paused.
With it paused, I'll ride pretty carefully through the dangerous parts.
Typically, I'll pause the computer 2 to 3 times per ride...
