Upcoming Car Show @ the Driving Museum...

Will go to this...

I'm waiting for this to start up again.
It's one of two such events I've been going to before COVID.
The other one is the gathering at the Porsche Experience Center.

Thursday, June 3, 2021 -- Manhattan Beach Pier -- Free Sample Protein Drink

They were handing out free samples of a vegan protein drink.
Never heard of it before.
They set up right next to the bike path at the pier so people were getting them as they rode past.

It was surprisingly good!
The retail price is $4.
A bit expensive but it's one of the few drinks that I might buy after getting a sample!

Had a fast ride (averaged nearly 19.5 MPH).
Did the protein drink help?
If nothing else, it was a couple hundred calories, including some sugar...

MGB - Rear most exhaust hanger broken -- need replacement part...

This exhaust hanger is broken.
The exhaust sometimes rattles...

Between the bracket on the body and the exhaust, there's a rubber piece that has separated completely.

The rubber piece is available as a separate piece.
It's just bolted in place at both ends.
From the usual MGB parts supplier, the rubber piece is $2.50 (incredibly inexpensive).
But, the shipping is about $10 (minimum for them).
I need some other stuff, so will make a list and make a larger order...

Driving Museum "Cruise In" - Saturday, June 5, 2021 -- part 5

The Jaguar scrip is extremely attractively designed.
The silver on red background is also very attractive.
The "leaping cat" hood ornament is one of the best of all time.

Don't think I've seen the leaping cat on the front doors on any of the other models...
Looks a bit out of place where it is...

The license plate lamp and lens, the trunk handles are like sculpture.
The glass with the Jaguar logo "cast" into it is fantastic!

The tail lamps and the bumper are kinda clunky.
This is true of many of the Jaguars from the time...

Huge steering wheel.
Looks pre-war in design...

The tach is so far away!

Shelby had to do so many modifications to make the Mustang capable as a sports car (to what is basically an econobox Falcon bones of the car).  Pretty amazing amount of work put into these early G.T. 350s (now usually written as GT350).

Vented plexiglass rear window...

Very nice steering wheel...
