Thanksgiving Holiday, 2022 -- Fairbanks Alaska -- Part 15 - Wednesday, 11/23 - Cross-country skiing
This was at 12:30 AM.
Strangely bright.
Early morning.
Regardless of the time of the day, the shadows tend to be long since the sun doesn't rise very much in the southern sky.
It's very difficult to get up when you fall on cross-country skis.
Much harder than with downhill skis.
The trees are covered with snow/ice crystals.
Sunrise.
Someone groomed a cross country ski path around and past the rental home.
Seems like cross-country skiing is big in Fairbanks.
Thursday, November 17, 2022 -- LA Auto Show Press Day - Part 17
The Golf GTI is nice but pretty sedate.
The vehicle has no flair.
Almost an appliance.
The Golf R is supposed to be much more than a GTI but other than the color and the usual "body kit" type of changes, not that attractive.
New Honda HR-V.
Looks much more grown up.
Based on the same platform as the Civic & Accord.
More upscale look and feel.
If they offered a manual, it would be a great lower priced/entry level type of vehicle, since the Fit is no longer offered.
The Chevy cross-overs look pretty good.
The EV Silverado.
A lot going on.
The tailgate has multiple functions.
Like the large cutout steps in the corner of the bumpers.
Has the ability to extend the cargo area by entering into the passenger space.
