1965 Porsche 356 Convertible

A friend from Toyota days came by to go out to lunch (went to Café Brazil).  He retired when Toyota moved to Texas.  He drove the 356 he restored over many years.  It's been done for a while now...

He said he had just installed this engine yesterday.
It's a second engine for the car.
This one is built up for more performance (mild cam upgrade & larger displacement).
He explained the European heater that this car uses (originally a European market car imported by a person in the military a very long time ago...).

Swedish Camping Stove -- Trying to adapt the fitting so that a small propane tank can be used...

This fitting is 14 mm...

Turns out that the fitting is not only metric, but also left-hand threaded (backwards to typical/normal)...

I bought a 14 mm adaptor (to 3/8") but because of the left-hand thread, I can't use it...

Removed the left-hand threaded adaptor.
This threaded section measures 0.375 inch, which doesn't translate to a metric mm equivalent so it appears to be SAE?
Strange.  I'll have to get a 3/8" fine thread nut and see if it fits...
