The phone mount is loose.
The plastic piece that receives the phone is loose and allows the phone to vibrate & bounce as you ride.
This mount is designed to let you rotate the phone 90 degrees in either direction from the position shown.
In order to accomplish this, they designed in a couple of spring washers and detents in the plastic housing with corresponding "bumps" in the phone holder.
It works well when new but becomes loose with use/time.
In order to fix it, you have to remove this small bolt.
It's got some strong Loctite on it so it take quire a bit of force to get it off.
In order to be able to rotate the bolt, the phone mount plastic piece needs to be help stationary.
I accomplished this with these very large adjustable pliers.
It worked well & I was able to get the bolt off.
There's the bolt, two spring washers and one regular washer under the bolt.
First I tried adding another lock washer in the stack to make it tighter but the washer inner diameter is too small so it won't go over the shaft of the phone holder.
Failed...
The stack-up is good but all the washers need to be able to slip over the brass center shaft of the phone holder piece.
So, all the washers have to have a relatively large center hole (much larger than a typical washer).
I looked for some other washers that could work but I didn't have anything that was exactly the right size.
I found a lot of stuff that's kinda close but the center hole would need to be enlarged.
I was going to drill the center hole larger on the drill press but then I found this one thicker washer that was the right dimension for the outer and inner hole. It's about 2.5 mm thick and it's thick enough to replace the washer and spring washers that were originally under the bolt.
By using this washer, the rotation function will be lost but it doesn't matter since I only use the phone mount in one orientation.
I installed the bolt with the thicker washer and the looseness is gone.
Fixed.
I have a Kennedy tackle box that I use to store miscellaneous hardware in, right next to the entrance to the garage, under the table saw.
I put the spare parts/washers from this repair exercise in there.
