Replaced the rear exhaust hanger on the MGB.
It's hard to tell in this picture (spider webs and debris), but the rubber portion separated. Thus, the rear half of the exhaust system is loose and bouncing around...
The bottom half of the broken hanger and hardware.
The top half of the broken hanger. Whoever installed the broken hanger used a thick "washer/spacer" to make the hanger/isolator/damper fit better between the fixed bracket on the body and the bracket on the exhaust pipe.
The new rubber hanger.
Will use some washers to make the fit between the brackets better.
After installation.
The exhaust pipe is not "neutral."
There's downward tension on the rubber hanger...
We'll see how long this hanger lasts...
From behind the vehicle, the exhaust pipe is now located about an inch higher and the hanger is partially not visible...
Have two spare hanger isolators.
The one at top top in the storage compartment is the broken one taken off the car (placed the tow pieces together kinda like it's supposed to be before it broke).
