They've been working on these parking lots on the south side of the bridge for a long time (5 years?).
I don't know what they did that it took so long but there was some heavy duty equipment working in these lots for a long time (possibly "shoring up" of the ground to keep it from sliding into the ocean/creek?).
The entrance/exit to the parking lots were open. It's one of those lots where you go to the machine to pay for parking.
There's one entrance and one exit, with those spikes in the exit so that you can only go one way.
This is the bigger lot that's closer to the ocean.
The second smaller lot is on the other side of the bike path bridge and is also open (though, I didn't see any cars in the lot).
The pay kiosk/machine is on the right side of the picture.
The bike path makes a left turn onto the bridge.
The bridge is between the two parking lots.
