Dining table bench - part 8 -- removing the material from the board for the butterfly

Will use the router to take out most of the butterfly joint area of the board.

Will use a 1/4" straight cutter.

It's interesting that this set is made in Italy...

Set the depth of cut to be just a little bit shallower than the height of the butterfly.

Done with the router.

Cutting into or over the line would be a disaster!

Was able to not get too close to the line.

The rest of the wood removal will be done with chisels.
