The front lid is broken. The faux leather cover is in pretty rough condition. The handle leather is nearly gone. The whole box is very dirty.
I think I'll just clean it, glue down the torn leatherette, maybe wrap some leather strips over the handle (just so it's got something covering it), and glue the wood back together on the front lid.
After which, I'll just use it to store small tools/items.
I did a little bit of research and this appears to be a Gerstener tool case model 55, made before WWII (possibly sometime in the '30s or '40s)
