Paramount Frame -- Installed the rest of the headset and the fork

Due to the shims I installed around the crown race (this is the race that's installed on the bottom of the fork's tube section), the cage for the ball bearings interferes with the shims.  So, I need to remove the balls and install them without the cage.

The crown race with the shims.

Applied grease on the crown race

With the grease, the loose balls stay in place before assembly.

Applied grease to the upper race ball bearings.

Installed the upper bearing cap and the locking nut.  The fork's threaded tube length is somewhat shorter than it needs to be.  Thus, the washer that usually goes between the upper nut and the upper race cap had to be left off.  Again, not ideal but it will work.

Set the amount of pre-load on the bearings then locked the upper nut in place to hold the setting.  Also cleaned the upper nut and the upper race cap.

Temporarily set the gooseneck in place to make sure that it fits and that there are no problems.

Fork installation is complete and the steering motion is OK (not too tight and not too loose).
