The washer between the nut and the metal cup (with the seal in it) completely rusted away. Went to B&B Hardware (on Washington Place) to get a replacement rubber seal. The hole in the middle of the seal didn't match so I had to drill it out to the larger hole diameter. Also, with the new rubber seal, the nut was very difficult to put back on because the seal was a little thicker than the original. Was quite an ordeal to get it all to go back together. After I put everything back together, the faucet still dripped but very little. The seal may need a little bit of time to "seat" itself. I'll replace the RH side (cold) seal tomorrow and see if the dripping stops... |
