| It's marked Chromoly. |

| There's a crack on one of the tabs for clamping the seat post together. |

| There is no "notch" cut in the tabs for the locking bolt. |

| The bolt came with a locking tab cast into one end. Had to grind and file off this tab so that it will fit the bike. |

| There's a "T" cast into the end of the bolt side of the assembly. Don't know what it stands for (Tange? - Japanese component manufacturer) |

| When I installed the bolt, the crack didn't get any bigger and the seat post was clamped. May be OK as is... |
