After initial cleaning
In the process of lightly sanding the wood in preparation for application of danish oil & using steel wool on the alloy center

| Finished cleaning the spokes. Will stain the wood next. |

| Applied Watco Danish Oil (Cherry finish) to the wood & letting it dry. |

| Rubbed the oil down/off. Now it's finished. This picture is with the right side up (outer side). These old steering wheels are dished in the reverse direction (hub is higher than the rim). |

Hero to Zero -- August 2, 2019 (Friday)
I had a pretty spectacular crash on my bike last weekend (on Ballona creek bike trail).
I had a “mechanical” & went from cranking to zero in maybe two seconds (see graph below).
No permanent damage, I hope… (other than what I started out with!)
I had three guys (that I don’t know) behind me at the time & none of them crashed (!), which was amazing.
One guy braked so hard that he slid through his tire and inner-tube completely & got a massive flat.
I may have to get a GoPro and recording my crashes.
It could be pretty entertaining for others…
On another note, a 22 year old PRO racer died from a crash in a race in Poland last Thursday. Tragic… his whole life was ahead of him.
