Part 11 of 16: Best of France & Italy Car Show and swap @ Woodley Park -- November 1, 2015 (Sunday)

Vintage Italian Road Race Bikes (Bianchi, Legnano & the one on the right I didn't get the brand...).

Direct Shifting of Gears with the levers on the seat stay tube. One loosens the quick release to account for the different wheelbase required for the different sized gears (no derailleur to take up or give out the slack) (Campagnolo)

Classic twin cam 4-cyl aluminum head with cross-flow, hemispherical combustion chambers, inclined valves (2/cyl) that are as large as possible in the bore & bucket/tappet valve adjustment. This is the car designed to take the 3L Cosworth DFV (labeled as Ford), in which Jim Clark won the F1 World Championship in...

Very light steering wheel...

This small wood rim wheel is very unusual. I looked up the brand at one time & found it but now forgot... It's English and extremely light (feels like it weighs less than a pound!). Unusual things about this wheel: The rim is wood only (no inner aluminum support). I don't know how they made the rim (can't see any seams in the wood but there has to be...). The spokes of the wheel are made in three pieces and held together by the center ring for manufacturing purposes. The back of the rim has a series of what look like half round-head rivets protruding all around it for grip (very thin rim so need the extra grip...). I think it's Aftermarket from late 50's/early 60's...
