About 1/43 scale which is on the small side for tin toy cars.
Not any particular car design. Generic 2-door sedan.
Guessing it's from the 60s.
There's a battery inside and it has been leaking for a long time.
The acid from the battery has caused the rear and rear bottom to corrode.
There's a little lever at the back bottom but it's rusted solid & won't move.
There's a pivot point at the front of the toy so that the bottom plate can hinge here.
It's not clear how the rear part disengages to open the bottom.
Maybe the lever also works to release the bottom?
The battery corrosion is on the interior panel too.
1.5 V battery with the + going toward the front.
Applied penetrating oil in the rear rusted mechanism area.
Will let it soak overnight to see if I can get the stuff to move.
