Sunday, November 28, 2021 -- Hung up two more bikes in the rafters (for a total of eight bikes hanging...)

Added hangers for the Red bike on the right.
It's above the rolling book case so it's not in the way...

Friday, November 26, 2021 -- Glendora Mountain Road -- Closed to traffic on holiday weekends...

This road goes up to Mt. Baldy.
We started at JG's house in Claremont & went just a part of the way up.
Nice to ride on a road with no cars, just other cyclists, some hikers, and a lot of long-board skateboarders.
Just rode for a couple of hours in the morning.

We may ride all the way up to Mt. Baldy another time when the road is closed again...

I thought it would be cooler going up the hills but it was pretty warm.
Was wearing three layers at the start.
Went down to just a shirt as we started to climb...

We just went up about 2,200 ft.
Mt. Baldy is about 4,200 ft. at the top.

Can see the tall buildings of downtown Long Beach straight ahead at the horizon line... (difficult to make out in the picture)

We turned around at this pullout.
We rode about 26 miles total.
When we got back to JG's house, we had some coffee, prosciutto & pumpkin pie.  JG remodeled the kitchen (new everything).  It turned out really nice.  They took out the wall between the kitchen and the living room to make it open with a bar/seating area in between.  Much nicer...

Had to leave about noon to meet the Gabelich family for lunch, at Pampas, in Culver City...

This is looking north.
If we kept going, JG said we would be riding up towards this direction...

Friday, November 26, 2021 -- Another batch of miso-ramen...

Made it for SKMK & CRMK.
Made it a little bit more spicy than before.
SKMK liked the spice level...

Friday, November 26, 2021 -- Oil Change and tire rotation for 2019 Fit

SKMK & I did the maintenance together.
0W-20 oil (3.5 qt.)

Had to remove the plastic undertray to get to the drain plug & filter.
My smallest filter wrench was still too big for the filter.
Used a large pair of pliers to remove the filter.
Will have to get the right size filter wrench for next time...

There were two missing clips for the undertray.
Bought a couple of replacement clips from Honda and installed them this time.

Oil fill cap and dip-stick are on the RH side of the engine bay.  Easy to access...
Checked all the fluid levels.  All is OK but the coolant level is a bit low.
Will add some tomorrow and also inflate the tires to spec.
Ran out of daylight today...

Friday, November 26, 2021 -- 405 freeway south just past LAX @ 6:45 AM...

The sun is rising and the 405 freeway is nearly empty.  So nice...

Sunday, November 28, 2021 -- Putting away and moving around paper into the book cases in the garage --- Part 1

Bottom two shelves of the middle (of 5) book cases making up most of one wall in the garage...
Have Automobile Quarterly Volumes 1 through 24 in cases (except for Volume 16).
Also have Volume 36 in it's slip case.
What's unique about the slip cases for AQs are that they're Volume specific.

There are a total of 51 full volumes plus one issues of Volume 52 (last publication).
Would be nice to have all 51 volumes in slip cases...

Actually, I don't even know if I have all 52 volumes.
Most of the AQs are in the 4th book case (from the front of the garage).  One of these days, I'll check and set aside the duplicates for "getting rid of"...

Third and fourth shelves (from the bottom) of the middle book case...

Fifth and sixth shelves from the bottom...
The AQs in slip cases are duplicates so they need to go at some point...

More duplicates...

The top two shelves of the middle book case...

Thursday, November 25, 2021 -- Marina Del Rey

Thanksgiving morning bike ride...
Beautiful day.
Lots of people out on the bike trail.

Thanksgiving home made deserts -- Coconut mochi cake, anko (red bean) mochi cake, jello & mini cinnamon roll

Thanksgiving was at the brother-in-law's in Porter Ranch (Northridge).  Ate too much...

Turtle Coaster

SKMK made this coaster for me (knitted) a year ago.
I use it every day!

Unfortunately, I broke this cup...
It's the third cup I've broken this year.
All three while washing in the sink & slipping out of my hands.
Two of the three cups weren't too precious but the third is a Porsche cup I really like.  The handle broke off in two pieces.
I'll try to "superglue" it back together so that it's at least usable...

Friday, November 19, 2021 -- JL Garage visit -- part 3 & Last

I thought the large artwork on the walls were "prints" of some sort.
They're actually very large hand painted oil on canvas!

The "garage" is immense.
Many large rooms (eight, or is it ten very large spaces...).

This was my favorite part...

This is one of the rooms in the also very large "shop" building next door to the "garage."  This was just one of the side rooms with mostly steam powered vehicles in it (most of the room is not visible in the picture; it's mostly to the left and behind me...).
