The local recycling center on Venice Blvd.  Waiting in line...

This bin is being replaced right next to the line (just a few feet away from people standing in line).

MGB Charging

Because it sits so much, the battery drains & needs recharging periodically.
I have to move it at least twice a week for street cleaning.
Had to jump start it to get it on the driveway.

The batter is located behind the seats.
There's a metal cover that needs to be removed first (four 1/4 turn screws - like  Dzus fasteners).
Originally, the cars came with two 6V batteries in series, one located on either side of the car.
The car got a 12 gel battery at some point so only one of the compartments is needed.
Also, the gel battery is much smaller than even one of the original 6V batteries.

I use the 2A slow charge setting and let it charge all day.  It's better for the battery to charge slowly.
After charging, the car started right up.

Cleaned the chain & bike

It had been awhile since the last time I cleaned the chain & bike

I used the Park Tools chain cleaning tool with simple green degreaser to first thoroughly clean the chain.
It took quite awhile (the chain was pretty dirty).
After, I applied a drop of lube to each chain roller (the roller & roller shaft are the only moving parts of the chain.
After applying lube, I cleaned off any excess lube on the outside links of the chain (lube on the outside links doesn't do any actual lubricating and only attracts dirt).
The one dark colored link on the bottom is the one that's removable.

Also cleaned the rest of the bike (frame, wheels, drivetrain, etc.).
It would be ideal to clean & lube the chain monthly.
I'm probably closer to actually doing it once every 3 to 6 months...
