James Watt

James Watt's workshop equipment was on display.  Some pretty cool and complex tools.

The science museum has a pretty amazing collection of early aero engines.  Unfortunately, they're displayed poorly so it's difficult to look at the engines (& to take photos).

Chain installation on the Teledyne

Installed this chain on the Teledyne.  It's supposed to work on 6, 7 & 8 speed setups.  The Teledyne has a wheel on it with 7 speeds.

I had this "missing link" for connecting the chain from another chain.  It would not fit on the chain!  It's a little too narrow.  It may be for a 9 speed chain.

Had to shorten the chain.

Also have this other new chain, which also came with a "missing link."  The one on the right is from the X8 package.

The CL573R is the right size for the Z7 chain that I installed.

The chain is still too long.  The rear deraileur has chain interference (with both the front and rear on the smallest size gears).

This is the kind of clearance needed.

Took out three more links & now it's good.
