Ikea Chair - Orfjall

The parts are nicely packaged.

Start by putting the bottom together...

The usual 6 mm Allen wrench for assembly.

I found other options in the garage to make the job easier.
The ratchet is what I went with.
Was tempted to use a cordless drill to speed it up even more but didn't want to over torque/strip the screws.

The casters just pop into place (with a lock ring/spring).
No tools.

The casters/wheels are terrible.
The wheels don't really want to turn.
They're made that way on purpose so as to prevent the chair from "rolling away" but they're so sticky that they really don't turn & instead drag across the floor surface.

Prepping the seat.

The hydraulic shaft is a tapered interference fit to the base and the seat.
No tools.
Done.
