Gerstener O-52 Tool Box -- Part 6 - Cleaned the side handles

After removing the LH handle, the surface was lightly "sanded" using steel wool

There's quite a bit of staining on the LH side panel

The loop part can be separated from the base.

RH side handle after cleaning and reinstallation.

RH side handle.  The wood surface was just cleaned of the steel wool dust.  Later, all the exterior wood will get a Danish Oil treatment

LH side panel.  The original finish is pretty stained and deteriorated.  Steel wool sanding is turning the surface white...

After cleaning off the dust from the sanding... 

Reinstalled the cleaned LH side handle.  The surface finish is turning a little white from the steel wool sanding.

Closeup of the LH handle after cleaning.  Looks pretty good. 

Both handles and ends are done (ready for application of Danish Oil...
