Clouds...

405 South approaching LAX.
It's the day after rain so the air is clean, the sky is clear and there's amazing clouds to the south and east...

Final Prep. for the third storage unit...

On the left side, the base of the storage unit will be over the dirt.  Using these stones to support the base at the corner...

The right edge of the storage unit will just hang off the concrete, but it should be OK.
The walls of the plastic unit are a couple of inches thick so the load on the floor will still be on the concrete.

May need to trim just a bit more for sufficient clearance...

Want to fix the lattice back in position in the frame but it's not possible without cutting the branches that go through the lattice.
Don't know if I want to kill nearly all of the Bougainvillea...
May just live with it the way it is, or maybe not...

Delivery...

This came on a rainy day.
Have to put it in the garage until the rain clears...

Porsche 914 Seat Track...

The 914 driver's seat was turned into a tall stool on wheels for the garage.
The seat track is still on it.
The design/engineering of the seat track is quite elegant in it's simplicity and minimalism.
The seat itself is very simple also.
It's a single piece of molded fiberglass with some padding and trim attached to it.
Very lightweight design.

LH side of the seat track.  The lever is for adjusting the tilt of the entire seat.
It's a very simple mechanism with a locking tab that fits into three or four teeth with a simple pivot at the rear of the seat track.

The seat fore-aft adjustment is by pulling up on this lever which releases a tab in the seat track.
This cast handle is prone to breaking if it's pulled up with too much force...

Ficus Tree Root...

This ficus tree in the back yard needs regular trimming.
Noticed that one of the roots has actually grown through the brickwork near the tree and is lifting the bricks...

View of the lifting bricks...

Started digging around the root...

Used a small axe to cut through the root.

Cut all the way through...

Also cut through the root on the other side of the bricks when it goes back into the dirt...

Cut all the way through...
Need to figure out how to remove the root from the bricks.
